ASO Presents A Week Of Piano Mastery
The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra presents a week of piano superstars – Bertrand Chamayou, performing Saint-Saëns' "Egyptian" Concerto No. 5 with the full orchestra, and soloist Alexandre Kantorow in recital at Atlanta Symphony Hall.
APR 16/18 – Guest conductor Philippe Jordan leads the Orchestra in Berlioz's masterpiece of romantic obsession and revelry, Symphonie fantastique, and opens the concert with Berlioz's blazing Roman Carnival Overture. Jordan, who will lead the Orchestre National de France as Music Director starting in the 2027/28 season, welcomes Bertrand Chamayou, recognized as "one of today’s foremost interpreters of French piano music" (The Violin Channel), in a performance of Saint-Saëns' "Egyptian" Concerto No. 5, written while traversing the Nile.
APR 19 – Pianist Alexandre Kantorow, the youngest winner of the Gilmore Artist Award, makes his Atlanta debut in a recital, featuring Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt and more. Kantorow, celebrated as "an exemplar of a new generation" (The New York Times), went from rising star to international acclaim after his performance during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics. Kantorow performs this special recital concert before returning to Carnegie Hall.
