2025 VIVO Summer String Institute
July 2025
This five-day music camp welcomed violin, viola, cello, and bass players from rising 5th through rising 12th grade. At VIVO, students learned from expert string conductors, received coaching from professional musicians, were inspired by master artists, and explored engaging music electives.
ASYO Finale Concert 2025
The Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra closed out the season with a phenomenal performance on April 27, 2025, under the baton of ASYO Music Director William R. Langley.

ASYO @ 50: Finale

We celebrated 50 years of the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra (ASYO) with a very special celebration. We began with a special performance by our ASYO alumni, led by the founding Music Director of the ASYO, Michael Palmer, and Jere Flint, who led the ASYO for 35 years. We then welcomed our current ASYO members to the stage to perform the 2024 Finale Concert.

TDP Spring Recitals 2023
On May 6 & 7, 2023, the TDP Spring Recitals featured our accomplished student musicians. Each student performed challenging masterworks in classical repertoire, including works by J.S. Bach, Haydn, Strauss and Mozart.

ASYO Finale Concert 2023
This finale of the ASYO season on May 7, 2023, shows exactly how far these talented young musicians came this season under ASYO Music Director Jerry Hou's direction. The program featured a suite of music from Bizet's L'Arlésienne – incidental music written to accompany a play about a young man torn between two lovers – and from Stravinksy's (in)famous ballet, Rite of Spring.

2022 Talent Development Program Musicale
On November 19, 2022, students in the Talent Development Program performed musical masterpieces of famed composers past and present, including Sergei Rachmaninov, Giovanni Bottesini, Carlos Simon and more. The program also featured a special performance by trombonist and TDP alumnus Vincent Tapia IV.
ASYO Overture Concert 2022
Led by ASYO Music Director Jerry Hou, the program on November 12, 2022, featured a work by Atlanta Symphony Orchestra member Michael Kurth as well as Mahler's First Symphony, nicknamed "Titan" for its heroic themes.

The ASYO and Alumni celebrated Independence Day with a performance on July 3, 2022, at Centennial Olympic Park, as part of Look Up Atlanta.
