Rising star conductor Elim Chan makes her Atlanta debut leading the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in a glittering program of Russian music. The concert opens with Tchaikovsky’s gem of a violin concerto featuring one of America’s preeminent violin virtuosos Hilary Hahn. The program concludes with an orchestral heavyweight, Shostakovich's magnificent Symphony No. 10.
🚨 Pre-concert Chamber Music Alert! 🚨 If you have tickets to hear Rachmaninov's Symphony No. 3 + Violinist Leila Josefowicz next week, then you also have access to a pre-concert chamber recital featuring ASO musicians on June 8 at 6:45pm! The program features two wonderful works for woodwinds (Villa-Lobos' Bachianas Brasileiras No. 6 for Flute and Bassoon and Alyssa Morris' "Motion" for Woodwind Quartet)—and, because there's always room for cello, a string duo by Mozart! It's the final curtain call for the Orchestra's fiscal year, and you can help us reach 100% of our Annual Fund goal! We are so grateful to a generous anonymous donor, who pledged a matching gift challenge that will match all new and increased Annual Fund gifts made by midnight tomorrow, May 31: aso.org/donate Thank you for supporting your Atlanta Symphony Orchestra!
As an orchestra, we know a little bit about how to end on a high note! 🎼 And to end our fiscal year on top, we need your help. It is through your Annual Fund support that the ASO can provide opportunities for students to learn directly from our incredible musicians, for children and families to discover the sound and joy of the orchestra, and for thousands in our community to feel the excitement, comfort, and delight our music can create. Now your gift can have an even greater impact, because a generous anonymous donor has pledged a matching gift challenge where all new and increased gifts made before May 31st will be matched: aso.org/donate Thank you for supporting your Atlanta Symphony Orchestra!
