FREE! Celebrate our departed loved ones and Mexican-American culture at this family-friendly festival in the afternoon from 11:30 am to 4:30 pm. The festival includes a full afternoon of fun with such activities as:
- Traditional Dancers
- Ofrendas
- Stilt Walkers
- Interactive Photo Booths
- Food Trucks
- Children's area with face painting, storytelling, and games with prizes.
While most of the activities will be ongoing, there will be special performances throughout the afternoon, which include:
- ASO violinist Juan R. Ramírez-Hernández performing with an ensemble of orchestra musicians.
- Horse Exhibition by Rancho Los Gallos de Oro
- Dance performances by Grupo Folklorico Itzamatul
- Actors from the Alliance Theater performing excerpts from the upcoming show Basura
- Storyteller Camille telling tales about Dia de los Muertos in Spanish + English
Later that evening, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra presents Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas featuring a screening of the timeless classic with the musical score performed live. While admission to the festival is free, tickets for Nightmare Before Christmas can be purchased here.
