Tyler Landers is a student at Norcross High School (Class of 2028). He began playing the tuba at age 11 while attending Pinckneyville Middle School where he was guided by his band director and mentor Mr. Roland Ventura. Tyler is currently in his fourth year as a fellow of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s Talent Development Program (TDP) where he studies with Michael Moore, principal tubist of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

Through TDP, Tyler has been granted numerous opportunities to grow as a musician, including masterclasses, recitals, mentorship, and participation in world-class summer music festivals. These experiences have helped him refine his technique, expand his musical network, and develop as a well-rounded performer.

Tyler is an active performer throughout the Metro-Atlanta area. He is in his second year with the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra (ASYO), his third year with the Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony (AYWS), and his first year with the Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra (EYSO). At Norcross High School, he performs with the Wind Symphony, the school’s premier concert ensemble directed by Lee Newman. He has been recognized for his musical excellence as a three-time member of the GMEA All-State Band (2023, 2024, 2025) and as 1st Chair in the GMEA District 13 Honor Band for three consecutive years.

During the summers, Tyler has continued to expand his artistry through prestigious programs including the Brevard Music Center Low Brass Seminar (2024), the International Euphonium-Tuba Festival (2024), and the Brevard Music Center Orchestral Institute (2025). These programs have allowed him to collaborate with and learn from some of the finest brass players in the country.

Outside of music, Tyler enjoys cooking, a hobby that provides him with a creative outlet and a sense of balance alongside his demanding musical schedule.
