Two years later, Samuel started taking private lessons under Peabody Institute alumna Sarah Paul. In his junior year of high school, Samuel began studying under Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Cellist, Daniel Laufer. Under the guidance of Mr. Laufer, Sam was admitted into the Talent Development Program (TDP) in 2025.

Aside from being admitted into TDP, Sam has been admitted into the Georgia Music Educators Association’s All-State Orchestra and has been a reoccurring member in the orchestra since his freshman year of high school (2023-2024). In the spring of 2025, Samuel won the 2nd prize at the Tennessee Cello Workshop High School Competition, where he also won the bow prize for the high school division. A month after the competition, Samuel was admitted into the Georgia Governor’s Honors Program (GHP) to study music over the summer at Georgia Southern University for four weeks. Then later in June, Samuel was admitted into the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra for the 2025-2026 season under the direction of William R. Langley.
