Biography

Noriko Konno Clift joined the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra in 1990.

Before moving to Atlanta, Noriko was Associate Concertmaster in the Philharmonic Orchestra of Florida where she also appeared as a soloist with Yehudi Menuhin to perform the Bach Double Concerto in four cities in south Florida.

Former Concertmaster of the Boston Symphony, Joseph Silverstein invited her to join the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra as Assistant Concertmaster where she spent three summers under him as Music Director.

A native of Tokyo, Japan, Noriko graduated from the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. While pursuing her bachelor's degree, she was already playing as a regular substitute violinist in the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra where Seiji Ozawa was Music Director.

She also received a master's degree from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and was a semifinalist in the International Paganini Violin Competition in Genoa, Italy.
