Madison Christian is a student at South Cobb High School (Class of 2028). She began her musical journey in sixth grade at Cooper Middle School where she started playing the flute. After six months, her band teacher, Mr. Daney Glover, suggested she try the oboe. She quickly fell in love with the instrument and began private lessons with Emily Gunby.
Madison has participated in numerous music festivals and camps throughout her school years. During her seventh and eighth grade years, she attended Midfest. During her rising seventh and eighth grade summers, she participated in Athena Band Camp. In her rising ninth and tenth grade years, she attended the Atlanta Chamber Music Festival. During her rising tenth grade year, she participated in the Schwob Music Festival. Additionally, she participated in GSU’s Double Reed Day and UGA's Double Reed Day in her ninth-grade year. She also participated in JanFest. Furthermore, Madison has participated in GMEA's Honor Bands.
In 2023, Madison was accepted into the Talent Development Program and began studying with Emily Brebach. Through TDP, she has continued to refine her playing techniques and deepen her skills. In addition to Madison being accepted into MYSO in 2025, she was offered an alternate spot in the ASYO. After graduating from TDP, Madison plans to attend a university that will support her career in music performance. Madison enjoys playing video games, traveling, and spending time with family.
Fun Fact: I have an identical twin sister, who also loves music, but isn't a musician. I have been a Girl Scout for the past 9 years. I enjoy reading and watching anime and learning anything relating to Japanese culture.
