Isaiah Villegas is a student at Sprayberry High School (Class of 2028), where he plays in the Mastery Orchestra under the direction of Sergio Rodriguez. He began playing the cello in sixth grade and quickly demonstrated remarkable dedication. By the end of seventh grade his orchestra director encouraged him to pursue private lessons.
Since joining the Talent Development Program in 2024, Isaiah has been studying with Karen Freer, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s Acting Associate/Assistant Principal Cellist. He was a member of the GMEA District 12 Middle School Honor Orchestra in 2022 and 2023. In 2025, he was selected for the GMEA All-State Orchestra. Isaiah has also performed with the Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra and is currently a member of the Emory Youth Chamber Orchestra.
This past summer, Isaiah attended the renowned Interlochen Arts Camp, where he further developed his artistry as a cellist. He continues to pursue his passion for music with enthusiasm and discipline, striving to grow as both a performer and musician. In addition to music, Isaiah enjoys biking, Pokémon, and Legos.
