Ezra Garcia

 

Biography

Ezra Garcia, an eighth grader of Cooper Middle School began to play the Flute in sixth grade at the age of 11 at his current middle school. In the seventh grade Ezra was selected to audition for GMEA All-State and made eighth chair. In that same year, he was selected to participate in the renowned ASO Talent Development Program. As a TDP student, he currently studies under ASO Flutist Todd Skitch. Most recently, Ezra attended the University of Georgia Mid-Fest and made the first chair in the top band. At the start of Ezra's musical journey, he studied with Tisa Schuurman a professional flute player in the Atlanta area. Ezra plans to attend one of the nation's leading music schools, The Juilliard School, and then become a member of the New York Philharmonic.

Fun Fact: I chose my instrument because my mom played the flute when she was in middle school.
