Biography
Cameron Bonner joined the Atlanta Symphony as Principal Bassoon in September 2024. Prior to his appointment in Atlanta, Mr. Bonner was a member of the Alabama Symphony where he held the position of Assistant Principal Bassoon. He has performed with the Toronto Symphony, Houston Symphony, Wheeling Symphony, and Akron Symphony.
Originally from Mckinney, Texas, Mr. Bonner began his musical studies with Milena Egan. He went on to receive a B.M. from the University of Houston, under the instruction of Elise Wagner of the Houston Symphony. Mr. Bonner pursued graduate studies at Carnegie Mellon University, studying with Nancy Goeres of the Pittsburgh Symphony. He held fellowship positions with the Texas Music Festival, American Institute of Musical Studies, and the Aspen Music Festival, where he was featured as a soloist as the winner of the AMFS Concerto Competition.
