Under Robert Spano's 20-year leadership as Music Director, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra developed an international reputation for bringing new and significant orchestral works to the world. A composer himself, Robert has championed and shaped the careers of many of America's most celebrated composers, including Osvaldo Golijov, Michael Gandolfi, Jennifer Higdon, Christopher Theofanidis and Adam Schoenberg.

Robert's two-decade partnership with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has yielded many significant milestones and accomplishments outside of Atlanta as well, including a long and fruitful relationship with Carnegie Hall, with totaling nine performances at the famed venue, as well as tours to other venues and music festivals across the country.

Thanks to a generous lead gift from The Antinori Foundation, we have established The Spano Fund for New Music, which will allow us to build on Robert's legacy to commission and perform new works for years to come. Help us celebrate the indelible mark Maestro Spano has made, not only on the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra but on the Atlanta community, by making a gift to the Spano Fund for New Music today.
