Juan Valencia

Biography

Juan Valencia is a young violinist who is currently a sophomore at Duluth High School. Juan began his musical journey when he started playing the piano at eight years old before finding interest in the violin after watching a performance and hearing all the variations of sound this small, yet powerful instrument could make. Juan entered the Talent Development Program in 2022 and has participated in the Kendal Youth Orchestra 2021–2022, the GMEA District 13 Honors Orchestra 2021–2022, Franklin Pond Chamber Music, and the Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra 2023–2024. Since entering the Talent Development Program, Juan has had the pleasure of working with violinist Carolyn Toll Hancock of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Juan has continued to show his tenacity and love for the violin while striving for other aspects of his life as he continues to reach for both musical and academic feats.
