Series One: Blockbusters

Experience some of music’s greatest treasures that audiences have long cherished and continue to adore. Incoming Music Director Nathalie Stutzmann leads Bach’s St. Matthew Passion and Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5. The series also features Rachmaninov’s Symphonic Dances, Bartók's Concerto for Orchestra, Mahler’s Symphony No. 5, along with amazing guest soloists like Emanuel Ax, Inon Barnatan, Johannes Moser and Awadagin Pratt.

Series Two: Simply Stunning

Nathalie Stutzmann opens the musical heavens with Beethoven’s immortal Symphony No. 9 featuring the ASO Chorus, as well as perennial favorites by Bizet and Tchaikovsky. Principal Guest Conductor Sir Donald Runnicles brings back his critically acclaimed interpretation of Brahms’ A German Requiem. New works by Hilary Purrington, Carlos Simon, and groundbreaking 20th century works by William Dawson, George Walker and VítÄ›zslava Kaprálová connect the treasured past with contemporary brilliance.

Series Three: Music Makes Magic

This series features quite a few works inspired by ghost stories and fairy tales. From Franck’s haunting Le chasseur maudit and Mozart’s overture to The Magic Flute to Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain, treat yourself to some of music’s most evocative classics. Prepare to be thrilled by the wizardry of soloists Hilary Hahn, Jonathan Biss, Leila Josefewicz and more.

Series Four: Relive and Discover

This series pairs classics like Vaughan Williams’ A Sea Symphony and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition and Ravel’s timeless Boléro with works destined to become classics, like Jennifer Higdon’s Concerto for Orchestra and Anna Clyne’s This Midnight Hour. Enjoy performances by ASO principal players David Coucheron and Elizabeth Koch Tiscione, plus superstar violinist Gil Shaham.
